The Eclipse

20th March 2015
As a solar eclipse is such a rare event we decided to make the most of it. We viewed the eclipse safely using card with holes cut in it and solar glasses.
This was the first solar eclipse in over a decade. It was visible in the Artic and Northern Europe. It happens when the moon passes between the sun and the earth. The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon but 400 times further away so, they appear to be the same size.
