Week beginning 18th May Science, Art, RE and Music

Science Y3&4 The Digestive System

We are ready to start our new topic, learning more about Animals and Humans. This week you will consider what you already know about our digestive systems and learn a lot more about how we digest our food. Follow the powerpoint, it will tell you everything you need to know. There are activity sheets to fill in as you go along, but don't worry if you don't have a printer - you can write down the information on a blank page.
Sheet 3 is there as an extra challenge, if you want to compare the human digestive system to animal digestive systems.
Science Y5&6: The Circulatory System

We are ready to start our new topic, on Animals Including Humans. This week you will recap on what you already know about the systems in the human body - the skeleton, muscles and digestion. Then you will learn about our circulation. This includes learning all about the heart, lungs and blood. For this lesson, you need to follow the powerpoint and there are some sheets to complete to go with the powerpoint. If you don't have a printer, you can write the information down on a sheet of paper.
Sheet 3 is an extra challenge, if you want to compare the human circulatory system to that of an animal.
The word mats are extra resources that you could print (or copy) and put up somewhere in your house, to help you learn all the technical vocabulary.
Art
This is a great art lesson showing you how to create optical illusions. For this task you will need plain paper, a black felt tip and coloured pencils OR simply a pencil and paper.  I would love to see the finished results - I think you'll have fun with this!
Music

This is a short and active music lesson teaching you how to use  your voice to beatbox. It will remind you of the work we did earlier this year on reading music - recapping on crotchets and quavers.
RE - Islam

You will remember our work on the 5 Pillars of Islam. This lesson builds on your previous knowledge of this religion, teaching you all about how the religion began in Mecca (you might remember that Muslims try to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca and this will show you why it is such an important holy place) with the prophet Mohammed. There are some quizzes as you go along.
