Class 2 children had a lovely afternoon in the woods. As our topic this term is WWII, we imagined that our homes had been bombed and we had to build a shelter to hide in. The children came up with fantastic ideas, adding campfires, comfy floors and supply cupboards to their shelters.
Lamerton came joint second out of eight teams in the football tournament. Well done to all who took part.
15th and 26th September
Class 2 met two ladies from the local area in order to find out more about what is was like to be a child in WWII. Mrs Fairchild was a teenager living in Bideford during the war. She told us how life changed for her family. We then met Mrs Doble who shared her experiences as an evacuee. The children asked lots of questions and learnt so much. We are very grateful to have met our visitors and look forward to sending them the WWII stories the children are currently writing.
