Message from Mrs Mammatt for week beginning 4th May
Thank you to those of you that have sent in messages, videos and photos of the work you have been doing at home. Well done to those who answered the questions to my story-time quiz last week. I will be sending something to you shortly! I shall also be adding another story this Tuesday based on our Under the Sea topic.
Below are this week's tasks. Mr Johnson will also add some activities for you. As always, just do what you can!
If you have any questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org adding FAO Mrs Mammatt in the subject box.
*Show and Tell Zoom*
On Thursday at 2 o'clock, you are invited to a Class One Zoom ‘Show and Tell’ with an ‘Under the Sea’ theme!
You could make your own pirate hat or try making ‘Winnie under the sea’ biscuits from the recipe provided. Make a flag with an underwater theme so that you can wave it at your friends! Perhaps you could practise singing the pirate song for this week’s learning.
We very much look forward to seeing you and something that you have made to share with everyone as a way of us all keeping in touch.
* New * Creative writing
I am excited to share with you a link to help you write a story with an underwater theme!
Click on the link for Cbeebies ‘Stories by the Sea' - Live lessons. Here you will find a whole live lesson exploring how to develop the beginning, middle and end of a story.
I have attached a pre-teaching activity as well as lots of resources that you can use during and after the lesson. I hope that you enjoy this lesson and I look forward to hearing how it went. I am also very excited to read the stories that you have written from this task. There will be a small reward again for those that complete a story. Have fun!
Continue your amazing diary writing. I was so impressed with the writing you showed me on zoom and via email last week….keep it up!!

I've added a sheet for you to highlight and read.
There is a new spelling website/app that is free during the Lockdown and will be especially useful to those who find spelling tricky. It is simple to use and helps children learn spellings using images, story sentences etc. Follow the link below to get your free code. Start with the first box and work your way through.
Continue to choose 5 words from the 100 (year 1) or 200 (year 2) high frequency word list to practise spelling. Use the look say cover write check sheet and test yourself at the end of the week.
Go to Mrs Mammatts story-time this week for activities linked to the story and our topic. Have a go at Winnie’s delicious biscuit recipe!
